Google Flu

Google Flu
An influenza tracking system from Google.

Google Flu tracks the frequency and location of certain disease-related search terms (“cough,” “aches,” “fever,” &c.) and uses this data to predict outbreaks of influenza.

According to Google, a test during the 2007-08 flu season accurately estimated flu outbreaks across nine U.S. regions one to two weeks faster than the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Currently Google Fluprovides American data only.
